Happy Father's Day and.. a little more.

I wish all the fathers out there a very HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  Your job is not easy and often not celebrated, but we see you!  I am such an empath that every time a holiday comes around, I first think of those who have lost.  My friend Lori will be celebrating her first Father's Day without Pops.  Every time I think of that, it just stings my heart. You are hit in the face with the overwhelming feeling of loss when those firsts hit. I think this is my 25th Father's Day without my dad. I lost him in 2000, but my mind won't let me remember the date, like ever! If you are feeling the void today, I am with you, and I pray for your peace.

I have been struggling a bit, to be honest.  Here comes that empath again. I am so overstimulated by everything that is going on in our country right now.  Social media has turned into a total shiz show. I will be very limited with my personal FB page for a while and will focus more here.  I see so much hate and divisiveness in our country. Lawmakers are being shot and killed in their own homes. Trump just had a birthday/military parade that cost approximately 45 million dollars, but has proposed cuts to programs and staff that benefit our veterans.  I don't get it. In the same breath that I say I don't get it, you have citizens, diehard supporters that will not admit one thing he has done wrong. He has no one around him BOLD enough to tell him no, or maybe there is a better way to go about things. I am not sure that person would be around for long.  Then you have the bromance that looks like a dumpster fire between Trump and Musk, and all the while, the supporters stay quiet. At the end of the day, we have to be accountable for ourselves and our actions.  How are we living our lives?  When I leave this earth, I hope I am remembered for my love for all people, no matter their color, socioeconomic background, who they love, or where they come from.  That I understood for us to grow as a society, we have to listen to one another, encourage courageous, difficult conversations to understand one another, and respect our differences. No matter where you stand politically, I am sure we can agree that we want the BEST for our families, our children, our grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and the people we love.  We want them to feel safe, respected, and provided with opportunities that we may not have had.  How are we going to accomplish those things when we are constantly fighting against one another? United States - where? We have to do better.

Whatever you are doing today, I hope you are finding joy in it.  Be BOLD!

I had Sade - The Ultimate Collection playing as I wrote this. I forgot how much I love her! Such a sweet, mellow vibe on this cloudy Sunday afternoon.

  1. Our country is truly divided. I struggle to watch the news. Our leadership seems heartless. I pray for those living in fear for themselves and their families.
