Change
As I was going in one direction today for the blog, the topic of change kept coming to my mind. To be honest, years ago, I was not comfortable with change. I think we all like the comfort of stability, a routine, and the idea of what we know about the world that is around us.
I have had the most change in my professional world with Administrators over the last five years and this is what it has taught me.
- Keep an open mind. The unknown can be scary but be confident in yourself and your ability to adapt.
- Attitude is everything!
- I believed that even when I didn't know the outcome or what was next, God had my back. He did every single time. Even when I couldn't see it at the moment, he was there the entire time.
- When you are faced with challenges due to the change, something good will come from it.
- I lost my parents and others that I have loved dearly. Whatever is coming my way, I know I can handle it. I got through the most painful times of my life and I will continue to grow and learn.
- Change is inevitable.
You are stronger than you think. When you are in the midst of change quiet yourself and look at what it is teaching you. How can you grow from it and what will you learn from it. Change is going to happen. It is up to us to stay in control of our emotions, trust that everything will work out just as it should, and learn valuable lessons through the change. Be BOLD!
This is really coming at a perfect time for me Jackie. For the last 35 years, give or take a year, Tammy and I have been in each other’s lives everyday! Tammy has decided to retire and that has totally thrown me!! And I have taken another job outside of Capital where I have been for 25 years! Can you tell mama does not like change. So I’m gonna take everyone’s encouragement along with your words of wisdom and embrace it. ❤️
