Customer Service
I have to tell you, lately for a while now my mood is not in the happy zone when talking about customer service. I know Covid changed a lot about how people work, and how long they stay in positions but WOW I really think customer service has gone downhill. I was pleased today with my experience at my Dr. appointment. I was sick for a while, and my Dr. put me on medication. I took the medication for five days with no improvement. I called her office on the 5th day and left a voicemail first thing in the morning. I needed relief. I waited several hours and decided it was best to go to a walk-in clinic since I never heard from her office. They still have not returned that message. So today while I was in her office she asked how I was doing. I told her that I got worse and that I never heard back from her office. She was so upset and said she never received the message. She immediately took all of the information and e-mailed all of her staff on the spot. She said she would talk with them but wanted to send something right then and there. I told her that I noticed her office has a high staff turnover but I know that to be true everywhere.
I think a lot of people are struggling with their mental health more than we know. I am expecting things from people in positions that they just can't live up to. I say hire someone else but where are those folks? I know in education and healthcare it is nearly impossible to have a consistent full staff. I have adjusted my mindset to meet people where they are but if I am paying for a service, I expect a certain level of service. Sometimes I wonder, is this my age speaking? Has this always been an issue but I am just now noticing how bad things have gotten with customer service? I do think it is important to share your experience with management. They can't make changes if the issues are not known. Be BOLD!
