Covid Surprise
I shared that I tested positive for Covid back in early October. I stopped taking my RA medication as it lowers my immune system and I needed all of my strength to fight Covid. One thing I remember for days is having these horrible leg cramps. They felt like something I have when I have an RA flare-up but worse and it lasted a lot longer. After about a week with Covid I started to feel better. All of the cramping went away and the only thing that remained was the loss of my sense of taste and smell but I did get that back after a few weeks. My last dose of Enbrel was on October 4, 2023. I have not had to take it since. The best way to describe it is like I have had a reset. There is no cramping, swelling, redness, NOTHING! I can wake up and not have to evaluate stiffness and pain. I hop right out of bed without thinking twice. It has been nothing short of amazing. The only pain I have is from some bone deterioration in my left foot from a bad flare-up a few years ago. And that doesn't even feel as bad as it normally does. I have shared before that I believe the RA was brought on years ago from my body being jarred in a truck. That trauma woke up something that was dormant in my body since a horse and three-wheeler accident I had when I was a kid. My theory, not medically proven. This has been nothing short of amazing and I sure do hope it lasts. I have a Rheumatology appointment in a couple weeks. I can't wait to share the news with my Rheumatologist! Be BOLD friends! What a great post-Covid surprise!
